Job Search Workshop Attendance & Policy Agreement
Job Search Workshop (JSW) is a work readiness program designed
to give students practice in essential employability and life skills.
Students will be held accountable for showing up on time and attending
regularly just like they would if they were employed. Participation, teamwork,
respect for everyone in the group, communication, and socialization skills
will all be expected in addition to the core curriculum components of
the course which are: a neat and clean master application, an approved
resume, and a mock interview.
In addition, students are required to apply for jobs each day and record
these on the job search log. You should check with your worker to determine
the number of jobs you must apply for on a daily basis. At the end of
the week, you must fax these logs to your worker. Your attendance, respect,
participation, and safety are very important to the group, just like it
is to your employer when you have a job. Here is a summary of current
policies:

(your Teacher), before noon.
Note: For Calworks participants you are allowed a maximum of 2 absences
(excused or unexcused). GA participants are allowed a maximum of 2 excused
absences and no unexcused absences. Three tardies are equivalent to one
unexcused absence. Students exceeding the maximum number of absence(s)
will be dropped from the course.
Students are expected to bring their binders to class each day and to
sign in on the roll sheet. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOUR NAME IS NOT SIGNED IN
ON THE ROLL SHEET YOU WILL NOT BE COUNTED IN THE CLASS FOR THAT DAY. In
addition, students must all scan in each morning at the front desk.
Graduation incentives such as Long's or Target gift certificates are only
given out to those students who attend regularly, show up on time and
complete assignments.
Teachers reserve the right to drop ANY student from the roll who does
not adhere to these polices. Students may then be dropped from JSW and
their cash aid could be lowered or stopped.
Students will receive and sign a copy of this agreement during their first
week of class.
